Win RT Whitelist Flash Tool

Welcome to the Windows RT Whitelist Flash Tool .

This tool will allow you to quickly enable any flash website to work on your RT device, import the custom whitelist, and restore your whitelist to default settings.

How flash works on RT devices.
Microsoft has implemented something called a compatibility list. This list contains websites that have been whitelisted to work with RT devices. This file is easy accessible to everyone, there are many tutorials out there that will show you how to manually add websites to the whitelist. However it is not a very easy process, that is why I have created this tool that will simply ask you what website you would like to add and the rest of the dirty work is done for you.

The tool does not require any installation. You unzip the folder and run “Windows RT Whitelist Flash tool”. Once you launch the tool the main menu will pop up.

Main Menu

As you can see above there are 5 options to choose from.

  • Option 1 will allow you to import that custom whitelist that is packaged with the tool.
  • Option 2 will restore the default flash settings and whitelist.
  • Option 3 will allow you to Backup or Restore your Whitelist .
  • Option 4 will allow you to add any flash website you want to the Whitelist.
  • Option 5 will display the about page.
  • Option 6 will exit the tool.

If you have any question feel free to comment below.

  1. I am having trouble entering the website

  2. Could you add me to your list of “Featured On” websites? I wrote an article on the earlier version and just updated it for the new 1.6 release. My site is http://www.rbrussell.com and the article can be found here: http://www.rbrussell.com/blog/2013/02/25/windows-8-metro-browser-flash-whitelist-editor/

    Thanks!

  3. I don’t suppose you could find out what domain(s) I need to input to get Farmville 2 to work? I have tried all sorts, but to no avail. A great tool by the way, unless of course, like me, you don’t know the correct address to start with.

  4. Hello,
I’ve been trying to use your tool for days and have not had any luck getting it to work :/
For example, I went to ilrn.heinle.com (site for my German E-Textbook) and figured out the url for the flash object on the main screen (cengagesites.com). I opened the tool (which is also not formatted the same way as in your screenshots) pressed 4, y, and entered cengagesites.com. opened IE back up, no luck. I hope the info I’ve given you will bring to light possibly anything that’s wrong with what I’m doing or with my Surface…

P.S. thanks for making this tool, once i get it to work I’ll be one happy camper.

    • Are you using the latest version 1.6? could you post a screen shot of the way the formating looks on your screen? do you get any error messages or does it say it completed?

      • 1. Yes, I’m using v1.6
        2. Format: http://i.imgur.com/E0TMQXR.png
        3. No errors, it clears the cache and all that good stuff then says “press any key to continue.” It acts as if it’s working perfectly (minus the way it looks)

      • Wow that is weird it looks like its running in debug mode. Please try re downloading it, that is very odd. I tested out your site and it worked on the RT device i tested it on

      • okay, redownloaded it from the second mirror this time, still looks the same, and still doesn’t affect the site :/

      • hmm very off, have you tried the restore option to restore the list to default. also if its not to much of a hassle try creating another user account temperately and see if it still shows up with the wrong format.

      • Okay, here’s the issue, and it may happen to others:
In your code, you used “%username%” to go along the file path according to the user’s specific username. This should work perfectly fine for everyone, but I’m not so lucky. For some reason my username and the folder with the user files has a different name. (username=Darrin, folder name=darri_000) Thus, in my specific case, it didn’t work for me. I think I previously replaced my account and kept the same name, so it created that path. My fault.
I replaced “%username%” with “darri_000″ in your code and it works like a charm now.
        Again, thanks for everything :)

    • okay, created a temporary (local) account and the tool is working properly. idk what i screwed up on my main account, but hopefully i will be able to fix it. thanks for your help!

      • Hey thanks for giving the feed back. You are right that would cause an issue, I forgot that when you create a new user with the name as the one you had deleted that it would not name the folder the same. Thanks for catching that I will attempt to replicate this issue in a Virtual machine and see if I can work around it. Thanks again! Glad its working for you

  5. Has anyone determined how to get stream2watch.me or firstrow1.eu working? I’m guessing they use a bunch of hosts that I can’t find the URL to. Also is deleting the history necessary? I use the other method of entering the URL into the debug registry key and that never requires anything more than a refresh.

  6. Just installed..very easy and simple. Thanks!!! Has anyone put together general lists yet? Would expect a lot of us “streamers” use same sites.

  7. Video is too grainy to read…except for your comments.
I am not very techy. It would help if there was an example of how much of the URL is actually needed. Facebook games are not working.
    Do I need http://www.facebook.com
    Or http://www.facebook.com/GAMENAME
Or http://www.facebook.com/GAMENAME/ALL THE STUFF AFTER IT

  8. URL for FACEBOOK games is http://APPS.FACEBOOK blah blah. Tool only asks for the FACEBOOK. If that is correct, will entering JUST FACEBOOK work?

  9. Have you heard of any issues with putlocker.com???? They are big stream site and I put in and that’s the base address (putlocker.com entered) but still unable to stream gives me the no flash player installed upgrade bs.
